Three students from PUP-COC’s Department of Advertising and Public Relations have continued to showcase their advertising skills and a knack for creativity amid the pandemic after being announced as part of the top five (5) winners of MullenLowe Philippines’ “Sobrang Young Lang” competition on Friday, August 14.
Along with two other winners, Bachelor in Advertising and Public Relations students, Andrea May Furio (3-2D), Chloe Prieto (2-1N), and Mark Jayson Santos (2-1D) stood out among all the advertising pitches submitted from August 10 to 13.
MullenLowe Philippines, a marketing and public relations company under the global MullenLowe Group, spearheaded the said competition which required contestants to create engaging digital content for a sample family business.
Prieto told The Communicator that this was her first competition since entering college and she recalled having a lot of ideas in mind but almost backed out due to fear and intimidation:
“The biggest struggle that I have faced was the pressure of making the whole presentation itself,” Prieto shared.
Despite this, Prieto took the competition as a challenge for her to explore outside her boundaries:
“They made us go out of our comfort zones: made us try things that we never thought we could do,” she said.
Aside from the company’s merchandise, winners will be having an exclusive masterclass session with MullenLowe PHs’ Chief Product Consultant Leigh Reyes, Chief Creative Officer Abi Aquino, and the rest of the company’s executive directors, as well as a spot for an internship.
